The Siolim São João Festival 2025, held in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, was celebrated with grandeur, colour, and an outpouring of community pride, solidifying its stature as one of Goa’s most iconic and authentic cultural festivals. Organised by the Siolim Boat Festival Committee, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd of locals, tourists, and dignitaries, all gathered to honour a timeless Goan tradition.
The celebration unfolded on the picturesque Siolim riverside opposite St. Anthony’s Church, blending ritual, music, and pageantry. The festivities commenced with a rousing performance of the São João anthem by Johnny B. Gud and Reza, igniting the spirit of the day. This opening act paved the way for the grand boat parade, where elaborately decorated floats, each carrying symbolic narratives, gracefully sailed down the river. A highlight was the Goa Tourism float, showcasing the Siolim Committee President, a traditionally dressed couple, and two young children—reflecting generational continuity and inclusivity within Goan culture.
