Goa has been blessed with many famous personalities in the field of fashion designing; this profession is booming in the state. Ritu Puri is one such renowned designer from Delhi who has set up her boutique in Goa under the banner “Ritu’s Creation”. Ritu, who is undoubtedly a Talk of the Town, moved to Goa in the year 2007 after getting married. “After completing my graduation, I went to acquire a degree in fashion and textile designing, and later worked with famous designers like Pragya Samore. I also worked in export houses and buying agencies like Anand Merchandising in Delhi,” said Ritu. After moving to Goa, she worked on various freelance projects along with established agencies before setting up her own studio “Ritu’s Creations” in Porvorim.
Ritu has also worked on various projects along with the well-known photographers and fashion houses in Goa. She came into the limelight after she organized a unique fashion show titled ‘Curves & Beauty – Meet the Real Women’ which gained many accolades for her designer dresses presented at the show. “I also worked with the famous photographer Prasad Pankar (CMYK) for his ‘Iconic Fashion Calendar’ photo shoots,” said Ritu. She has managed to receive tremendous recognition and appreciation for her work from Goa’s fashion industry, and it all became possible only because of her hard work, immense talent and dedication. Here are some of the milestones achieved by Ritu. She started a designer boutique called ‘Ritu’s Creation’ on Chogam Road at Porvorim, followed by her venture ‘Ritu Puri’s Haute Couture’ – made exclusively for high-end designer dresses. She launched ‘Dress Code’ which makes uniforms for restaurants, hotels, BPOs and MNCs. Ritu showcased her unique fashion at a show where she took women who weren’t models to present her collection ‘Curves & Beauty’. She also designed western gowns for the “Iconic Fashion Calendar” for the CMYK team photo shoots. Ritu has also given lectures and taken workshops on fashion designing for the students of WLDC-INIFD. 
Ritu is going to launch her own label and workshops for fashion designing in her next fashion show, which will be announced shortly. Her fashion mantra is, “Clothes aren’t going to change the world, but, the women who wear them will.”
