Goa, 12th March 2024 – The Goa Tourism Pavilion stole the spotlight at ITB Berlin 2024, captivating visitors with its engaging exhibits and showcasing the state’s rich cultural tapestry. From immersive displays highlighting regenerative tourism to fascinating presentations on Ekadasha Teertha, a once-in-a-decade exposition featuring St. Francis Xavier, the pavilion offered a captivating glimpse into the diverse tourism offerings of Goa.

Amidst the bustling atmosphere, the pavilion served as a hub for renowned hoteliers, tour operators, and aviation industry leaders. Visitors had the opportunity to engage directly with Goa tourism officials and stakeholders, exploring partnership prospects aimed at promoting responsible tourism and fostering global connections. This collaborative spirit underscored Goa’s commitment to sustainable development and forging meaningful ties with international partners.

Among the official delegates present were Mr. Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS, Secretary of Tourism and Information & Technology, Government of Goa; Mr. Jayesh Kankonkar, Assistant Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Goa; and Mr. Prasad Kavlekar, Marketing Manager, Goa Tourism Development Corporation.

Reflecting on the event, Mr. Sanjeev Ahuja, Secretary of Tourism, expressed his excitement, saying, “Participating in ITB Berlin 2024 was a thrilling experience as we showcased the essence of Goa to a global audience. Emphasizing our commitment to sustainable tourism practices, we remain dedicated to offering enriching experiences while preserving Goa’s cultural and environmental heritage.”

In a triumphant moment, Goa Tourism received the prestigious “Destination of the Year” award from PATWA, recognizing its outstanding contributions to the tourism sector. This accolade solidifies Goa’s position as a top travel destination. Additionally, the Tourism Minister was honored with the “Tourism Minister of the Year” award, acknowledging exemplary leadership in positioning Goa as a premier tourist destination.

The success of the Goa Tourism Pavilion at ITB Berlin 2024 reaffirms the state’s status as a leading tourist destination, committed to promoting cultural diversity and sustainable tourism practices globally. Through innovative exhibits and collaborative initiatives, the pavilion showcased Goa’s unique charm, leaving a lasting impression and fostering promising partnerships for the future.
