The 13th edition of Goa’s most anticipated event, “Swaramangesh—The Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Memorial Indian Classical Music & Dance Festival,” will be held from December 6th to 8th, 2024. Presented by the Swastik Cultural Association, this three-day spectacle promises to captivate the hearts and minds of the Goan audience with extraordinary performances by some of India’s finest classical musicians and dancers.

This festival has established itself as a cornerstone of Goa’s cultural calendar, offering a memorable experience for all who attend. The event will take place at Kala Academy, Panaji, Goa, in the DMK Auditorium (AC).

Day 1:

The festival opens on December 6th at 4:00 pm with a grand inauguration ceremony, followed by an enchanting sitar recital by Pt. Vinayak Chittar. The evening will culminate with a powerful vocal performance by Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar, a senior disciple of the legendary Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj. His rendition is expected to leave the audience spellbound, marking an unforgettable beginning to the festival.

Day 2:

Day Two, December 7th, kicks off early at 9:30 am with a vocal recital by the renowned Padma Shri Pt. Venkatesh Kumar, whose mastery over ragas is sure to impress. This will be followed by an exhilarating Kathak performance by Mrs. Nayanika Ghosh, a prominent Kathak exponent from Delhi, whose grace and precision will bring the art form to life.

The afternoon sessions on Day Two will feature the emerging talent of Ms. Arti Gaude, a promising student from the Sanjeevan Music Academy. Her performance will be followed by a captivating duet with Dr. Prabhakar Kashyap and Dr. Diwakar Kashyap from Kanpur, both disciples of Padma Bhushan Pt. Rajan & Pt. Sajan Mishra. The day will conclude with a spellbinding sitar recital by Padma Shri Ut. Shahid Parvez, whose virtuosity will leave the audience in awe.

Day 3:

The final day of the festival, December 8th, begins with a classical vocal performance by Dr. Pravin Gaonkar, a well-respected figure in Goa’s classical music scene. His performance will be followed by a mesmerizing sitar presentation by Vidushi Devaki Pandit from Mumbai, before concluding the morning with a flute recital by Vidwaan Shashank Subramanyam, a celebrated flutist from Chennai.

The evening session will commence at 4:30 pm with a recital by Ms. Shreya Chatterjee, a disciple of Padma Bhushan Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. Her performance, steeped in tradition, will be followed by an engaging tabla duet by Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra and Rahul Kumar Mishra. The triumphant conclusion of the festival will feature a trio performance by Pt. Kumar Bose (tabla), Debojyoti Bose (sarod), and Manali Bose (vocal), who will come together to perform a mesmerizing blend of ragas and taals.

“Swaramangesh” is not just a festival; it is a tribute to the timeless legacy of Indian classical music and dance. The event celebrates the rich heritage of India, providing a platform for both established and emerging artists to showcase their talents. Apart from the performances, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore stalls featuring books, musical instruments, and food counters.
