There is no politician who is not taken the bribe till date at least once feels Ricardo D’Souza who is currently aiming for the BJP ticket from Calangute Assembly seat which presently under the BJP rule retained by the Calangute MLA Micheal Lobo.

According to the IANS reports, Former owner of Club Titos, one of the top nightclubs in Goa and an aspirant for a BJP assembly election ticket for the 2022 polls, Ricardo D’Souza, wants all MLAs to take a lie detector test to prove they have not taken bribes in public life.

Stating that he will not shy away from his promise of providing the free apartment to every family from the Calangute constituency if he is elected in the forthcoming election Ricardo affirmed that he will use the money that was going in the bribe for the wellbeing of the Calangute residents.

Ricardo spoke to the press reporters out side the hotel where the BJP meeting was underway under the leadership of the Goa Election In-Charge Devendra Fadnavis.

“Let the universe and God judge who has taken money. If you want (to do it) the legal way, we can bring a lie detector test. Put all the MLAs hand on the lie detector, ask them have you taken money as a bribe… Why don’t they do it?” D’Souza said.

“There is technology. The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has it (lie detectors). Get them, put them to a (lie detector test) and let us see who has robbed,” D’Souza said.

It may be recalled that Mr Ricardo made it public that he was forced to sell his nightclub due to the harassment from the local politicians and police.

According to the report published in the Goa Prism in the month of June Mr. Ricardo made the solemn disclosure that the company has sold its entire business in Goa, “it is with sadness but with anger,” he said. He further added that this closure is for good, and they have no intentions to ever conduct any new business in Goa.

He also targeted the officials from the Coastal Regulations Zone (CRZ), Planning and Development Authority (PDA), the Block Development Officers (BDO), NGOs, the panchayat, and the sarpanches for harassing him that prompted him to sell his business to the outsider.

D’Souza has also had a running feud with Michael Lobo, Ports Minister sitting MLA from the prestigious Calangute assembly constituency. While both have maintained that they have friendly relations with each other, D’Souza claims that Lobo “would not win the next election”.

D’Souza said that he is an aspirant for a BJP ticket in the upcoming 2022 polls, he also said that he had received offers from several other parties to contest from Calangute.

“All options are on the table. Every party has approached me. Absolutely every party. AAP (Aam Aadmi Party), Congress, NCP (Nationalist Congress Party). You must have seen my photos with various leaders. It is up to the universe to guide us all,” D’Souza said.

According to Ricardo, he is here to change the system and to do that he wants to be in the system. “My heart is in the right place. I am here to change things. I am here to give one free apartment to each and every family in Calangute. I have explained how. Slum rehabilitation in Mumbai, look at it. It is not rocket science. It can happen, it will happen if I am elected,” D’Souza said.
